Welcome Love Lee Photography is fresh, heartwarming and artfully candid. Specializing in documentary style wedding, destination and boudoir photography, owner Margaret Lee's images are sure to capture the intimate mood of any moment!
There are a ton of reasons I love Lisa and Ben. Not only did they have a Midsummer Night's Dream themed wedding, not only is Lisa now my facebook friend, not only is Ben a huge Astros fan like me, not only did their guests do the entire Thriller dance correctly at the reception, but also, Lisa and Ben made me cry. Not in a bad way. They made me cry when they emailed me the nicest note. I can say that I have shot nearly a hundred weddings now and every single time I show people their images, I'm still freaked out and nervous. It's my interpretation of one of the most important days of their lives and I want to get it right. Lisa and Ben's note just made me think to myself how unbelievable it is sometimes that I get to do what I love for a living. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Taylor for trusting me.

These were taken at one of my favorite gelato places. My favorite flavors are pistachio almond and banana cream pie. And now, Maddy likes banana cream pie gelato ;) Even though the image of Maddy and I is out of focus (which I know wasn't intentional because I handed my camera to my 12 year old cousin) I loved it as soon as I saw it. There I am, holding my baby girl while she laughs and all you can see in focus is her hand on my shoulder. I hope she'll grow up knowing that she'll always have it. My shoulder for support, for crying, for resting, for laughing, for anything...

Lisa Taylor:

Oh my gosh! Now you're going to make me cry - Lovefest! :D Thanks so much, Margaret, for everything! My mom got one of the photobooks and she carries it with her, showing it off to everyone. you're famous in Burleson, Texas! Seriously, though, it's amazing work, and we love it!

It's been a while since my last post. I do apologize. But stay tuned because I've got weddings, engagements, bridals, boudoir and even babies that have been piling up on my list of things to blog! Wedding season is in full swing and Love Lee is so busy I just might need to change my name to Love Bee! Get it? Okay, nevermind. Before I update my blog with all that is weddings, I wanted to share with you a session I did for a poet named Detrick Hughes. He's possibly going to be featured in a major magazine and he contacted me to photograph him! I love it when I get the chance to photograph things I don't normally do. Most of all, I love where photography takes me sometimes. Check out Detrick's work at www.iampoet.com

Do you miss Maddy? I guess I would if I didn't get to see her for a month. Well my baby girl is 9 months old now! I've already started brainstorming for her 1st birthday party that I know is going to sneak up on me. Madeline LOVES animals. She laughs and smiles every time she sees them. Here she is having fun with my 9 year old bulldog, Mochi. She giggled so much when I let her play with the dog!

Roslyn and Donny were married in a sweet and intimate ceremony at Roslyn's family church. Before they said "I do," they decided to see each other first. I love first looks. You can't ever fake or pose or create the type of emotion you get when two people see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Roslyn and Donny planned ahead to see each other at the River Oaks Garden Club. It was the perfect setting on a perfect day.

I remember Donny telling me that he knew Roslyn was getting closer because the "click-click" of my camera kept getting faster as she approached. When she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around, it would not have mattered if I were there. It didn't matter that the wedding party was watching from a distance with huge smiles. Seeing Donny break into tears as he gazed upon his beautiful wife-to-be let everyone watching know that all these two needed, and all they would ever need, were each other. The love I saw at that moment was remarkable.

Today my baby girl is 8 months old. She's growing up so fast! As I was feeding her this morning, she had it in her mind that she was going to feed herself today. I didn't want to fight with her so I let her try. This is what happens when I let her have her way.

I'm so happy to know that Madeline shares my love for Twilight :) Yes, I am a Twilight fan. I remember when I started reading the books way before the movie came out and way before all the Twilight craze started. I remember people asking me what I was reading and when I said it was a teen romance book about vampires I got the craziest looks and even crazier comments. Of course, later on when it was made aware that Twilight was COOL, those same people started reading the books too. LOL!

March 11, 2010 // photography
Yesterday I arrived home from Las Vegas. I spent the last week there for the annual WPPI convention. If anyone was looking for their wedding photographer the past few days, more than likely they were in Vegas. It was a great week of inspiration, learning, and of course, some Vegas fun!

The convention allowed me to meet and learn from photographers that inspire me, not just because they're successful, but because their work is truly amazing. There's meaning behind every image they capture.  I was able to hear Elizabeth Messina speak to a ballroom full of photographers about loving what you do and being thoughtful in every image you show. She shared images that literally made me cry.

I was also able to attend Amelia and Justin Lyon's terrific workshop, The Lyon Shop. If there are any photographers reading this, I highly recommend keeping a look out for the next one. Especially if you're looking for a workshop that is on the opposite end of intimidating, will motivate and inspire you to be creative, and help you be a better photographer for your clients. Another workshop that I was able to go to was hosted by photographers Fred Egan, Jory Cordy and also Lara Casey of Southern Weddings. It was a mini workshop that was kept really casual and simple, but still saturated your mind with knowledge.

Finally, there was the trade show! It really made me appreciate what brides go through when they attend the bridal shows in Houston. So many choices! So many booths! So many people! I was a bride once, so this reminded me how exhausting it can be. The good thing is that I came home with a bag full of information that I know is going to great for all my Love Lee clients :)

I brought my camera and snapped some images while exploring Vegas with Julie. It was her first time in Vegas so I had to show her how gorgeous some of the hotels are. Most of all, I had to introduce her to a great buffet! My good friends Marianne and Abby joined us for a  Sunday brunch at the Wynn hotel, complete with mimosas! Oh and yes, that is a picture of Julie on the floor...at the BELLAGIO...taking pictures. LOL!

Oh how I missed my husband and my daughter when I left. I cried when I said bye to Madeline. It was my first time away from her. It was hard at first, but once I got to Vegas, I was so busy that I managed just fine. Gosh I really missed my husband and my daughter so much! Here's a funny picture I took before I left. She was peeking over her crib and it made me laugh!
