When I met Meredith and Bryan I knew right away they were going to be a lot of fun. We got together last Sunday for their engagement session in downtown Houston and ended up leaving with some cool recycled art! There was an Earth day festival going on at Discovery Green Park that we didn't know about. There was an artist there that had turned things like old window shutters and antique bed frames that were thrown out after Hurricane Ike into art. Meredith and Bryan found this cool piece with the famous Love sculpture logo on it. We used it as a prop for our pictures. After our session, sweet sweet Bryan bought the love art for his love, Meredith!

I had so much fun with them. We laughed, we danced and we played! I can't wait until their wedding this June! Enjoy!

Aunt Linda Kalister:

I love the pictures. They're so artistic and spontaneous in apprearance/ Not like everyone else's staged photos without any artistic flair. And Bty, you romantic, buying the art for Meredith is a story you'll have to share forever!

Aunt Paula:

You two look adorable! Linda's right, it looks so spontaneous and your love for each other radiates through each picture.

I'm up editing several portrait sessions and a wedding. It's Friday night and as much as I want to leave the house for a bit, I have to get up early tomorrow morning and head to Austin for a sweet wedding. I promise to blog about it as soon as I can!

In the meantime I thought I'd share some personal pics from my trip to Paris. I have sooo many pictures from my time there. It would be a shame if I didn't take some time to share some of them with you. One day while I was there, I spent some free time on foot with my camera, some euros to buy train tickets and to buy a yummy nutella/banana/almond crepe. I have to say, the Parisians really know how to relax and enjoy a nice day. Can you imagine? All these beautiful things I saw were just from ONE day of walking around! Enjoy!

Jasmin and Will were sooo completely chill when I shot their engagements. They were laid back, cool and calm. Boy was I in for a big surprise the day of their wedding! It was fantastic! The two of them were ready to celebrate and party the night away as soon as I arrived! Even their big wedding party was ready to throw down...and it wasn't even noon yet!

Check out the third set of images. Isn't Jasmin's mom so cute! For a few moments I set aside my photographer duties to help the bride get dressed. Thanks to Julie Wilhite who helped me shoot this wedding and got the cute shots of my "Love" bracelet as I helped Jasmin get into her gown. A big thank you also to all of Jasmin and WIll's wedding party. Although they were a huge group, they made it sooo easy for me to capture all of them. They were all so happy for Jasmin and Will and so excited to be there for them on their wedding day.

All in all, it was a great day filled with nothing but lots of emotion and lots of love. Enjoy!

While I was in Paris, I also got a chance to go on an engagement shoot with Marissa and Weston Boucher of Boucher Photography. It was a great experience and the couple we shot was totally awesome. What made it even better was how naturally affectionate they were. They also couldn't keep their eyes off each other! Weston and Marissa are wonderful teachers and I absorbed every word and technique into my brain! Enjoy!

I'm back from an incredible week in Paris and I brought back souvenirs, a cough (unfortunately), and a boat load of images (yay!!!)! I learned a lot and also got to know a great group of photographers.

I saw as much as I could in Paris when we had free time. I ate crepes with nutella, bananas and almonds, I fell in love with the paninis and I totally went head over heels for parisian coffee! I'll blog about it more when I post my images from all those ventures. In the mean time, here are just a few images I took at the workshop. Enjoy!
